Default Only Diesels

We've tried to only drive a diesel vehicle for several years...with a few minor exceptions...and we've had two VW TDI's in the last 10 years. I love them but I need an all-wheel drive variety to get around here in New Mexico and VW seems unwilling to bring their 4-motion Sport Wagon TDI into the country. So...that puts us into a position where we'll have to switch to Subaru. I hope Subaru comes through with this.

Never owned a Subaru but looked at many. The newer Tribeca interests me but I really don't need something that big since I don't have a family. From a performance aspect the WRX is another one under consideration. I like big ol' V-8's and bought a 2006 GTO but I know the WRX would have fun with it. But I like it and want a diesel Forester to take care of my winter time driving...when I get around to it. Just needs to take me skiing or maybe pull a snowmobile or ATV. I have a 2005 Chevy Duramax dually that takes care of my heavy work (until this last summer, home was a 37' 5th wheel) and it is my first diesel. I made something about not needing something as big as a Tribeca...not sure why I bought a crewcab then. Cuz it was on SALE! LOL
Just hope Subaru gets the diesel to the US, I'd like something lighter and great in the snow for a daily driver.

Baja, There is no Baja on the list or in the current line up.
Another Subaru blunder, Drop the Baja in 2006 just as gas prices went up.
I was smart enough to see the writing on the wall and traded in my large 12mpg pickup in on one of the last Baja's to come off the line.
I see more writing on the wall and want to buy a diesel.

Default AWD Diesel

I currently have an '06 Forrester, '06 TDI Golf and an '08 Dodge Sprinter. I want an AWD diesel. In fact I have vowed that my next car will be an AWD diesel. I traded in a Subaru Forrester for the Golf tdi. I have not been sorry for this decision even though I was happy with my Forrester. I have owned many Subarus since the '70s. My first Subaru was a front wheel drive wagon. But my next will be an AWD diesel or I will keep driving what I have! I make my own biodiesel and have for the last 4+ years. I don't usually burn B100 though. (I don't get enough used oil to make as much fuel as I burn.) But a little over a dollar a gallon it sure cuts the fuel bill.

Hello,

I drive a Subaru Legacy Diesel. Its a nice car with loads of power and grip. But it did have a serious engine problem at 10,000 miles with the big end bearing failing.........there was an audible knock as the engine returned to idel speed after a gentle rev.

But to be fair, Subaru replaced the full engine, minus the fuel pump, with no quibble. I had been driving several Peugeot's over the years and had grown accustomed to teh excellent ride and handling that they have.

In comparision, the Subaru can feel harsh and the steering is nothing as near communicative as that for a Peugeot 405.

But the Subaru has awesome grip but the electric steering does not tell the driver a whole pile about what is happening.

ill go for subaru forester since the wheels are so well align its goes 50:50 as you increase speed on the road. This makes you confident on making turns that you get good grips since your car is balanced.

well balancing gives your proper speed acceleration this makes the car catch speed easily.
