Waiting for the diesel Subie

Good morning, everyone. I'm a newbie in this BBS. I drive an 09 VW Sportswagen TDI, but I'm looking for an AWD diesel. I have always liked (but never bought because of the steep price) Subarus for the AWD feature, but I'm ready for one now, a 6M wagon would be perfect for my family (H+W+2G+1B). We only drive sticks, no offense to anyone. We simply enjoy driving manuals and we go to the mountains in NE PA often.

Having said that, any reasonably-certain date for release?

you would have to ask Tom Doll, who heads up Subaru of America. He seems to think that the 10% price premium for diesel gas isn't offset by the 50% increase in gas mileage...so he isn't bringing the diesel here yet....HELLO, TOM!!

I among those who would buy a Subaru Diesel (Outback) in a heartbeat. I obviously disagree with Mr. Doll and I'm frustrated that many companies that make great diesels for the rest of the world (notably Subaru, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW) bring few or none of them to the US. They will find buyers! Just look at the VW Jetta TDI.
